Know Yourself

Hello and Happy Sunday to You!
Now before everyone goes and gets super excited…I am not back..exactly – kind of….

I am no longer working with clients in any capacity but have continued to maintain the lifestyle of veganism and fitness as I have pursued other interests in my life. When I posted on my facebook page that I would be taking the page down, little did I know that it was something that I could just not bring myself to do. In the deeper recess of my soul, something told me “no” and I listened. In this last year and a half, much has happened and little has also changed. I’ve jumped into fulfilling my love for motorcycles with both feet enjoying the thrill of riding and also building. Working with Harley Davidson and understanding some additional technical aspects of motor and engine builds has been tremendous and more than worth it. I have also honestly missed posting fitness and meal plans, as well as doing what I am doing right now…just talking with you all. I’ve titled this post I feel appropriately because no matter how much we either try to run or alter the true nature of who we are, we always come back to our fundamental roots. That being said, I will be brainstorming over the next weeks to decide what I will be offering aside from my blog posts. I’m a person that does not believe in going backwards so I am certain that I will not be offering personal training or classes. I may offer minimum consulting for meal planning but again, I’m unsure as to how far I will go.

It has been awhile I know but once I iron out what contributions I can make, I will be in touch. Until then, enjoy your Sunday and we’ll talk again soon!

It’s Not Your Fault

Hey, how’s it going?

So since it’s Friday and you’re ready to get on with your weekend, I thought about a couple of things that have really been bothering me and wondered if you were having some difficulties rationalizing them too.

This past week has been an eye opener for me. I learned that from all my dilegence and research that I was wrong about some things. I realized that in order for me to maintain my professionalism and ethics, I would have to own up to the misinformation and inform my clients about the correct way to do things. I couldn’t be negligent with their needs, their health and lifestyle. After all, it would be my fault if I didn’t….right?

Accountability is something that we are all responsible for. If this simple check and balance is not in place, a great many things can occur. From theft and greed, to the gross management of someone’s life that would lead to their demise or ultimate death. So whose fault is it when you don’t have all the information about your diabetes? Yours? Your Doctor? Pharmaceutial Company?

All of the Above! Now, I know what you are thinking…”Jeremy is on the soapbox, telling me that I don’t have all the information that I need to cope with my diabetes.” I am actually telling you that you have just enough information to cope with your diabetes…not get rid of it!

It’s not your fault that:

You don’t know the right questions to ask
Your doctors continue to treat your symptoms
Your monthly medication costs are rising
You experience mood swings due to medicating

Your constant change in eating habits are making you depressed
Your Diabetes is Not Improving
You get sick and it takes longer to get rid of illness
You’re having trouble sleeping
You find that you are prone to having accidents in your clothes (#2!)
You’re thinking of suicide
You want to end this pain
You think I’m nuts

For the established reasons, the base that medical practices and what would be considered the normal course of action, much of what I am saying to you would seem like a conspiracy theory…when in fact it’s not.

I care about your wellbeing just as I care about my father, my brother and sister, my niece that go through (and have gone through and paid the ultimate price) the pain, the emotional valleys of dealing with sacrificing their lives on the account of “coping” with a curable disease. I don’t want you to die, I want you to live.

Live so you can embrace your life and touch those around you. Share your gift, your talents given to you with the world. Enrich a childs life and share that spark that exists within you to open a door to another realm for someone. Become an educator and understand that life is not defined in maintaining, it is defined in accomplishment and ever seeking higher degrees of capacity within ones self.

You should know by now that I would die for you. My life is pointless if I am not truthful with you and provide you with the tools required to assist you to reverse and eliminate your diabetes. I’ve watched you fight for too long to gain zero ground in defeating this disease. I plan to help you get rid of it…whether your doctor, pharmacist or pharmaceutial provider like it or not. My life is worth risking for you because you mean more to me living than you do to them as a consumer. I Love You and all that you represent. It’s not your fault.
Have a great weekend.

Yours In Success,
Jeremy

Let’s Reverse Diabetes Now!

What’s going on all!

So today, I want to do my part in telling the truth about diabetes that is not being shared with those struggling with this very “curable” disease.

According to top medical doctors, nutritionists, scientists, and now even the media type 2 diabetes is a completely reversible condition. Yet, millions of people all over the world are being told that diabetes is “genetic” and that they have to live with it the rest of their life.

But there’s good news! In this article I will go over the exact steps you need to take to reverse type 2 diabetes naturally and improve type 1 diabetes.  In most cases, type 2 diabetes can be reversed in less than 30 days. I also provide some foods and supplement regimen that you can follow or share with someone you love who needs this information.

I will also address the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and differences in treatment.

25% of the Population is Pre-Diabetic… And They Don’t Know It

Diabetes has grown to “epidemic” proportions and the latest statistics revealed by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) state that 25.8 million Americans have diabetes. Also, research from the ADA shows that 79 million Americans have pre-diabetes, which is 25% of the US population!

The cost of diabetes to our nation is a staggering $245 billion dollars a year as of 2013.  That’s $176 billion in direct medical costs and another $69 billion loss in productivity.

Aside from the financial costs of diabetes the more frightening findings are the side effects and the fact that diabetes is the 7th leading disease killer in America today. The most common side effects of diabetes include: high blood pressure, blindness, kidney disease, neuropathy, Alzheimer’s and amputation.

So let’s discuss what actually causes diabetes and the difference between type 1 and type 2.

The Cause of Diabetes

Diabetes is an illness related to elevated blood sugar levels.

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. The damage to the pancreatic cells leads to reduced ability or complete inability to create insulin. Some of the common causes that trigger this autoimmune response may include a virus, GMO organisms, heavy metals, vaccines, or foods like wheat, cows milk, and soy.

The reason foods like wheat and cows milk have been linked to diabetes is because they contain the proteins gluten and A1 casein. These proteins can cause leaky gut which in turn causes systemic inflammation throughout the body and overtime can lead to autoimmune disease. In order to reduce the autoimmune response and improve type 1 diabetes, I suggest you implement the advice in this article and follow the steps I layout for you here: 4 Steps to Heal Leaky Gut and Autoimmune Disease.

Type 1 Diabetes is rarely reversed but with the right dietary changes major improvements in blood sugar levels can be seen and a person can often reduce their dependence on insulin and medications.

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and is caused by insulin resistance. It is a metabolic disorder that is caused by high blood sugar. The body can keep up for a period of time by producing more insulin, but over time the insulin receptors sites get burned out.

Now, we know the main causative factors in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes include foods that spike blood sugar levels and cause intestinal inflammation. Next, let’s go over the top foods you MUST get out of your diet to reverse type 2 diabetes and support overall health for type 1 diabetes.

Foods You Must Remove to Reverse Diabetes Naturally

Refined sugar rapidly spikes blood glucose and soda, fruit juice and other sugary beverages are the worst culprits. These forms of sugar enter the blood stream rapidly and can cause extreme elevations in blood glucose. Even though natural sweeteners like raw honey and maple syrup are better options, they can still affect blood sugar. Your best option is to switch to stevia.

Grains, especially gluten containing grains like wheat, contain large amounts of carbohydrates which are broken down into sugar within a few minutes of consumption. As discussed earlier, gluten can cause intestinal inflammation which affects hormones like cortisol and leptin, and can lead to spikes in blood sugar. I would remove all grains from your diet for your first 90 days on this healing program and after that time you can introduce back in sprouted ancient grains in small amounts.

Conventional cow’s milk, should be eliminated especially for type 1 diabetics. Dairy can be a fantastic food for balancing blood sugar if it comes from goat’s, sheep, or A2 cows. Stay away from all other forms of dairy because the A1 caseinproduced by conventional cows will harm the body and trigger an immune response similar to gluten. When buying dairy, only purchase raw and organic from pasture raised animals.

Alcohol can dangerously increase blood sugar and lead to liver toxicity. Beer and sweet liquors are high in carbohydrates and should be avoided.

GMO corn, soy, and canola have been linked to kidney and liver disease and may promote diabetes. I suggest removing all GMO foods and all packaged foods from your diet. Also, remove hydrogenated oils from your diet including vegetable oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, and canola oil.

Top Foods to Cure Diabetes

If you want to reverse diabetes quickly or prevent diabetes I suggest you add the following foods into your diet.

High fiber foods help slow down glucose absorption. Aim for at least 30g of fiber per day from vegetables, avocados, berries, nuts, and seeds.

Foods high in chromium can improve GTF glucose tolerance factor in your body and naturally balance out blood glucose levels. Broccoli, raw cheese, green beans and grass-fed beef are all high in chromium, however broccoli has the highest amounts by far.

MCFA’s found in coconut and red palm oil can help balance blood sugar levels and be a preferred fuel source for your body rather than sugar.

Wild-caught fish contain Omega-3 fats and reduce inflammation which can help counteract some of the negative effects of elevated blood glucose.

Foods with a low glycemic load tend to not spike blood sugar as much as high glycemic foods. Low glycemic foods include vegetables, nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut, organic meat, eggs, wild caught fish and raw pastured dairy.

Sprinkling herbs like cinnamon, turmeric, and parsley on your food may also help balance blood sugar levels.

The 5 Best Supplements for Balancing Blood Sugar

1. Chromium Picolinate (600 mcg daily) Helps improve insulin sensitivity.

2. Cinnamon (2 tsp daily) Add to food, smoothie or tea to help improve blood sugar control.

3. Fish Oil (1,000 mg daily) Omega-3s are necessary for proper insulin function.

4. Alpha-Lipoic Acid (300-1200 mg daily) Improves insulin sensitivity and reduces symptoms of neuropathy.

5. Fiber Powder (10 g) Fiber from vegetables and seeds can control blood glucose. I recommend finding a supplement that contains sprouted chia and flaxseeds.

Other supplements that may support diabetes include: magnesium, rhodiola, green coffee extract, bitter melon, and gymnema.

If you want to balance your blood sugar and see results quickly, then follow this plan as closely as possible. I want you to focus on getting plenty of protein, healthy fat, and fiber in every meal.

Exercising Balances Your Blood Sugar

Exercise is another crucial part of improving insulin sensitivity. It naturally supports metabolism by burning fat and building lean muscle. To prevent and reverse diabetes I recommend getting outside and walking 20-30 minutes a day. This has been shown to be especially beneficial following meals.

In addition to walking, you also need to do interval training cardio (like tabata training) or weight training 3 to 5 days a week for 20-40 minutes.

Tabata training can help you burn up to 3x more body fat than traditional cardio and can naturally increase insulin sensitivity. You can do this on a spin bike with intervals or you can try my Evo6 home training program. Evo6 has a variety of workouts for all levels of fitness.

Strength training using free weights or machines is also recommended because it helps you build and maintain muscle, which supports balanced blood sugar and sugar metabolism.

Do you struggle with blood sugar issues or diabetes?

Have you, or do you know someone, who has overcome diabetes naturally?

I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on diabetes and treatments in the comments below.

Let Jesse James Rob The Train!

Hey whats up everyone!
I just wanted to take a couple of moments today to let you all know something very basic:
Do not let anyone or anything steal your dream!

All to often we are positioned for things more suited for someone else’s ideals and goals. We underachieve because our mental wiring has been sabotaged!
Make the most of your opportunities when they present themselves. ..and when they don’t. ..create your opportunity from nothing. The world is your oyster so go get your pearl (or some hot sauce and other condiments just in case all you have is oysters!).

So now that I am off my soapbox,  I am still super excited! This past week has been great and my momentum is getting stronger by the day! Starting next week I will be expanding my business and I will be looking for 8 to 10 people to bring on board! You don’t have to be in the best shape but you have to be focused and dedicated to succeed.

If this sounds like you, and you are willing to work like never before send me an email at jeremy.larochester@gmail.com
Name, phone number and most importantly,  I need you to tell me what you want to change in your life.

Alright, back to training for me. Ready to change your life for good? Email or text me…we will make it happen!

Have an Awesome Day!

To Juice or Not to Juice…

Juicing extracts the best from fresh fruits or vegetables. Your body can absorb the nutrients better and it gives your digestive system a rest from working on fiber.

It can also reduce your risk of many diseases including diabetes and cancer, boost your immune system, help you remove toxins from your body, aid digestion, and help you lose weight.

And if you don’t enjoy eating fresh fruits and vegetables, juicing can be a fun way to add them to your eating strategy or to try fruits and vegetables you normally wouldn’t eat.

Here is my personal top 10 experiences I like about Juicing

1. I could think more clearly
2. I lost a lot of weight – about 20kg in 40 days
3. I found myself full of energy
4. I was more consistently positive and cheerful, no matter what come my way
5. I would wake up feeling sharp and well rested, even if I had less sleep
6. The juices flooded my body with so much nutrients, I rarely felt hungry
7. I also noticed a heightened sense of taste and smell
8. My skin started to glow, my hair and nails grew faster.
9. My immune function was at its peak, and I didn’t catch a single cold or get sick
10.The discipline of juicing gave me greater control over my appetite and boosted my will power in general.

If you have any questions about juicing or want to get started, leave me a comment or email.

Take care!

Say No To Arizona….

Good Morning! It’s not what you think!
According to the Journal of Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, you can increase green tea’s cancer-fighting
power by adding three tablespoons of orange, lemon, or lime
juice to one cup of the hot tea. Why? These juices improve
the stability of the cancel fighting antioxidant and make
them more available for absorption.

So the next time your thinking of having some tea, go to the source of good health and stay away from the sugar infested substitutes!

I will be giving away some more information this afternoon and also announcing the biggest promotion that I will have run to date.
Talk to you later!

Disturbing Truth About Diabetes

At the time of this writing, diabetes has climbed from seventh to the sixth leading cause of deaths in the United States.

Pre-diabetes is a dangerous condition in itself, this is when the glucose level in the blood is not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes yet damage is being done to your internal organs. The body can not handle any unsafe level of sugar or glucose in the blood for any extended period of time.

For those that do not understand this disease, here is a brief synopsis: Diabetes is the body’s inability to use the sugar called glucose. Glucose is created when the body breaks down food for energy. The hormone insulin opens up the cells in the body to allow glucose to enter into the cell and be used as fuel. In diabetes the cell never opens up and the glucose flows through the blood stream causing high blood sugar levels. With diabetes the body either dose not make enough insulin or is resistant to its own natural insulin. High blood sugar can lead to very serious complications. Heart disease is the leading cause of premature death in people with diabetes. Diabetes is the major cause of leg and foot amputations in Americans today. Infections are much harder to control in people with diabetes, they are at greater risk of complications and death due to infection. The high risk factors leading to type 2 diabetes is too much body fat and high sugar intake.
Diabetes is on the rise; Americans continue to eat poorly despite healthier options and more emphasis on portion size. This unspoken pandemic is starting to really show in the children of the United States.

Free-radicals are very active in a person with diabetes. They attack a number of cells at once because diabetes causes an abnormal immune function due to high glucose levels in the blood and organs. Free-radicals are the reason you see so many different complications or side illnesses in this disease. Free-radicals are molecules or atoms that are missing an electron, free-radicals attack healthy cells trying to steal an electron from them. Chronic inflammation is also a major player with this disease and in the side illnesses. Chronic inflammation is being called the silent killer by doctors and scientists. All of the above diseases need medications to help regulate the disease, but you need to know this, medications cause free-radical damage, and this damage is called side effects. All medications can cause side effects. So eating properly to help your condition is absolutely essential for your life.

Think of free-radicals as a school of piranha, they feed on everything in sight, they are not picky eaters. Free-radicals cause healthy cells to become mutated or deformed and they attack any cell they come in contact with. Now if they do manage to steal an electron then that once healthy cell, in turn, becomes a free-radical doing what was done to it. This is a vicious cycle, basically there is a war going on inside your body. You can not see or feel this war but it is there, and one day it will show its ugly head in the form of a serious disease or illness. You must be on the defensive and feed your body what it needs in order to combat these little piranhas.

Inflammation is a bully, after the free-radicals have done the damage the inflammation is sent by the body to help heal but it is unable to heal mutations and deformities so the deformed or mutated cells begin to feed on the healthy inflammation cells. Now the inflammation cells are deformed or mutated and become chronic inflammation cells, the chronic inflammation cells begin attacking your healthy tissues and cells.

You have the power to take your health into your own hands and put a stop to the damage now. As we know antioxidants help the body fight against free-radicals, antioxidants are molecules or atoms that has an extra electron. It gives this extra electron away and in turn the free-radicals stop attacking healthy cells. Science has proven that ALL diseases and illnesses are caused by free-radical damage and the vast majority have chronic inflammation as their side kick. There are risk factors for all diseases but free-radicals and chronic inflammation are the source and cause of major complications. Free-radicals can not be avoided; they are in air and water pollution, in the junk foods we eat, and caused by traumas and injuries. Free-radicals are a part of life; they even affect the aging process itself.
Antioxidants are essential for health, plants contain about 1,000 to 1,500 antioxidants, an eating strategy of fruits and vegetables is essential, supplements are key, vitamins and minerals contain high numbers of antioxidants. If you are taking supplements, you need to do some research and try to find fresh supplements; they tend to lose their potency the longer they sit on the self.

Anyone with diabetes or even pre-diabetes must re-think their eating strategies, moving towards fresh and organic (when possible) foods, stay away from fast foods and anything with high sugar content. Taking in a large number of antioxidants everyday, is essential to help your body recover and maintain better overall health. Type 2 diabetes can be reversed with an eating strategy and exercise, as long as you dedicate yourself to a complete lifestyle change. Pre-diabetes can be reversed.

People with diabetes are ruled by their medications and checking their blood everyday, they must see their doctor on a regular basis in order to keep their blood sugars under control by adjusting their medication. If their sugar goes too far up or too far down, massive damage to the internal organs and tissues is done and even the brain is affected, and can cause comma. This is a very deadly disease, but with the proper nutrition plan, physical fitness routines and lifestyle transition it does not have to be.
