40 Seconds From Potential Victory And…

Hi there,

Hope you are having a great Monday. Regardless to who you were routing for in yesterday’s Super Bowl, it was actually a pretty good game. I learned quite a few lessons from the game on a life and business level.

The first would be to never take your foot off the gas…even when you think you are at a dominant advantage/position.

The next would be to play to your strength. You want to include variety as it directly relates to obtaining or achieving your goal. Never do you want to do something new, or out of character that jeopardizes the objective. Watching the game last night, I saw first hand what trying something out of character from Seattle on the 3 yard line with 40 seconds left in the game could do.

Play To Your Strength – Marshawn Lynch – not taking anything away from the result of the play of the Patriot defense….they did a hell of a job coming up with the interception but really?? A Slant route from the 3? Why not utilize “Beast Mode” and try to pound it in? One timeout left, at least you give yourself another opportunity if need be.

When you have an opportunity to see your goal and accomplishment is within your grasp…play to your strength. Now is not the time to deviate from what brought you this far. This small factor is what determines many successes versus defeats.

Variety – Read Option – to my count, the Seahawks ran a total of 1….that’s right ONE read option play the entire game. Would that have also been an optional play at the end of the game? Still allows you to control and dictate the pace at the end. Maybe this is why I am a fitness professional and not an offensive coordinator.

Ensure that you provide controlled Variety – meaning you are educated on the possibilities and understand what adjustments may be require for you to still be able to accomplish your goals without suffering a setback. While life does prevent obstacles, it is important to remember your “Why.” Why you do what you do…why are you willing to battle so hard and believe in what most can not see? Remain flexible but true to yourself -ALWAYS.

Think of it this way: 40 seconds from victory…play to win and nothing else.

Congratulations is in order for the New England Patriots on their victory.

Thanks For Reading,
